I agree with the 5 head out the window view being the best mode. You also do not have to perfectly nail the outline so long as you are generally inside the pattern once you get the entire trailer over the patttern it will trigger. At least you have cheat views in a real truck you only have mirriors though in very tricky spots a spotter would help.
You can call for service directly on the road (a bit of fuel), or get dragged to nearest workshop (and get a bit of fuel anyway). Both cost you money and time. Beware that while on a World of Trucks job to be carried away from your current location will forfeit your delivery. It will be never cheap.

When you park when doing a delivery, you'll have three options: Skilled Parking, in which you'll have to back up into the space, Safe Parking in which you can drive straight into the space, and the third, in which you skip parking altogether.
You can also do Windows Key + Tab instead of Alt Tab. You should however stop your truck before pressing Alt + Tab. ctrl shift esc will bring up the task manager without the other steps, Why not just leave a explorer window open during game then alt tab will have something to switch to.
When you're upgrading your truck or trailer there is a footprints icon in the bottom right corner. Clicking that will enable walk mode. It's only available in the upgrade shop though.
I cut it too fine on fuel, and ran out. I coasted to the next fuel stop, but braked a bit too soon and didn't quite make it to the pump. So, I called for assistance which took me to the next city (at quite an expense!). A small amount of fuel was added to the tank by this, enough to drive to a petrol station. Only thing to remember is the fact that the further away you are from "optimal" conditions, the sooner you will run into trouble. True. For the "normal" heavy loads almost anything will do, it's just slow going.
