I think it was naive to expect Android 10 . Yes Sony normally gave 2 major updates - but seems most people forgot, the XZ1 compact was the first 3rd party Android phone to launch straight on Android 8. We had Oreo months before other major phone brands. The previous Z series phones had launched on the outgoing version of android. The latest handsets to be graced with the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop are the Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, Z3 Dual, and Z Ultra.
